The term broadband can have different meanings in different contexts. The term's meaning has undergone substantial shifts. In telecommunicationBroadband in telecommunications refers to a signaling method that includes or handles a relatively wide range (or band) of frequencies, which may be divided into channels or frequency bins. Broadband is always a relative term, understood according to its context. The wider the bandwidth, the greater the information-carrying capacity. In radio, for example, a very narrow-band signal will carry Morse code; a broader band will carry speech; a still broader band is required to carry music without losing the high audio frequencies required for realistic sound reproduction. A television antenna described as "normal" may be capable of receiving a certain range of channels; one described as "broadband" will receive more channels. In data communications an analogue modem will transmit a bandwidth of 56 kilobits per seconds (kbit/s) over a telephone line; over the same telephone line a bandwidth of several megabits per second can be handled by ADSL, which is described as broadband (relative to a modem over a telephone line, although much less than can be achieved over a fibre optic circuit). Q. I have got vodafone mobile broadband and a contract with it. It isnt very good and takes forever to bring up internet pages. But I don't think you can cancel the contract until the end. Asked by rossafire - Sat Nov 29 16:31:51 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. You can cancel your contract anytime, although they probably have a 4 week notice period. Have you tried your vodafone connection in various locations, to see if it makes a difference? Maybe you have a weak 3G signal. Also, is the laptop that you're running it on performing as normal? A slow machine means your browsing session might also be slower. Also, call their customer service and tell them about your problem, at least to see if they can throw any light on the matter. How much data do you want to be able to exchange before being charged for overages...? that's the Answer. What you are limiting is the amount of data you will be able to send and recieve. examples: a song file may be between .2 and 5MB same as a picture. When dealing with text, each character take up .00032MB of data. An online video may be up to 2G. Your usage limit includes sending data such as a request for a web page or uploading files as well. If all you're going to do is check your text based e-mail on a regular basis a 50MB plan might be sufficient. If you do a lot of web brousing you're going to want the 5G plan. If you upload or download a lot of files or watch a lot of video you are going to want an unlimited plan. Hope this… [cont.] Answered by E P - Tue Nov 4 15:42:40 2008 Is it possible to play svr games online without a broadband connection?
