In most regions, region is a geographical term that is used in various ways among the different branches of geography. In general, a region is a medium-scale area of land or water, smaller than the whole areas of interest (which could be, for example, the world, a nation, a river basin, mountain range, and so on), and larger than a specific site. A region may be seen as a collection of smaller units (as in "the New England states") or as one part of a larger whole (as in "the New England region of the United States"). Regions can be defined by physical characteristics, human characteristics, and functional characteristics.

As a way of describing spatial areas, the concept of regions is important and widely used among the many branches of geography, each of which can describe areas in regional terms. For example, ecoregion is a term used in environmental geography, cultural region in cultural geography, bioregion in biogeography, and so on. The field of geography that studies regions themselves is called regional geography.

What should I be charging for non regional computer repair work?
Q. I work for a computer repair organization that offers me out of regional deals with extra compensation for my time. These spots are upwards of 90 minutes away from where I live and eat a considerable amount of gas and time. I have to work out a contract with them per region. How much should I be asking for? My flat rate is $30 per local job (which are usually very easy) but for long trip that involve travel and gas, what should I be charging when working out a contract? Well it is $30 dollars flat per local area. if I am out of the local 5 mile area, I get a travel fee bonus. I'm doing a about a 2-2.5 hour job today for $50 bucks for example, to cover my gas and a little extra on the side. I feel this is a little bit low personally.… [cont.]

A. I don't know where you're living, but I used to charge $60 / hour. I had a friend who charged around $90. From what I've seen $60 - $120 / hour are within industry standards. You don't want to gouge people, but I think $30 an hour is too low, especially for jobs that involve travel. If you put a high value on your work, others will, too. If you put a low value on your work, others will, too. [edit: I would have charged about $150 for a 2.5 hour job. My friend would have charged about $225. He used to scold me for charging too little! Of course, this was in central New Jersey, near Princeton, which is a pretty heavy populated, well-off area. I never had any complaints about my rates being unreasonable. If I remember correctly, some of the… [cont.]

A. Ever so annoying when you want to go between THREE transit systems. Antelope is in the Sacramento Regional Transit System, and Sierra College is in Placer County Transit, with the Roseville system in between !! SO, let's start on the school's website (since they often provide directions and transit information): & To determine how to get from your location in Antelope to the Louis / Orlando Transfer Point, use this site: You next catch the Roseville "A Route" ( )from the Louis / Orlando Transit Point to the Roseville Galleria Transit Terminal where you'd catch. A Placer County Transit express bus (purple) from the Roseville Galleria / Light-rail to the Campus (taking 20 minutes): sorry this is SO Confusing !!
