Wireless communication is the transfer of information over a distance without the use of electrical conductors or "wires". The distances involved may be short (a few meters as in television remote control) or long (thousands or millions of kilometers for radio communications). When the context is clear, the term is often shortened to "wireless". Wireless communication is generally considered to be a branch of telecommunications. It encompasses various types of fixed, mobile, and portable two-way radios, cellular telephones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and wireless networking. Other examples of wireless technology include GPS units, garage door openers and or garage doors, wireless computer mice, keyboards and headsets, satellite television and cordless telephones. Answered by Aaron - Mon Nov 2 08:36:34 2009 How do i stop my wireless phone from interferring with my wireless internet?
Q. Everytime my wireless phone rings it makes my internet stop working and I want to know how to change the frequency so that it doesn't interfere with my wireless internet. I have a mac. Asked by Josh - Thu May 14 18:36:14 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. Josh, Wireless phones operate on 3 frequencies: 900MHz, 2.4GHz, and 5GHz. The last two are the same as 802.11a/b Internet (WiFi). If changing the channel on your WiFi access point does not fix the problem (and it might not because most wireless phones jump from frequency-to-frequency across the 2.4GHz spectrum), I would recommend getting a WiFi access point that operates in a band different from your cordless phone (i.e. 5GHz if your phone is on 2.$GHz). Hope it helps. Answered by M'enfin! - Sat May 16 17:09:48 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "wireless" Industrial Wireless Mainstream Mostly
